Axe gang robs suburban pub

FOUR masked men armed with knives and an axe have robbed a hotel in Sydney's south-west.

The men entered the hotel on Junction Road at Ruse about 9pm (AEST) yesterday and threatened staff with knives and a small axe before fleeing with a sum of cash, police said.

All four were wearing masks and surgical gloves.

The first man is described as being 180-185cm tall, with a solid to fat build, aged in his early 20s, wearing a baseball cap, grey hooded top and and grey track pants.

The second man is described as being 170-180cm tall, with a thin build, aged in his early 20s, wearing a baseball cap, grey hooded top, dark coloured track pants and running shoes.

The third man is described as being about 180cm tall, with a medium to solid build, wearing a grey hooded top, dark black pants and running shoes.

The fourth man is described as being 170-175cm tall, with a thick build, wearing a blue hooded top, blue jeans and running shoes.
