Employee charged over nightclub assault
WA: Police have today charged a 23-year-old night club employee who allegedly hit a man in the face, breaking his jaw at the Liquid Nite Club in Rockingham in January.
Rockingham detectives allege the man was escorting a 21-year-old patron out of the nightclub around 2am on January 21.
As the patron was being guided down the stairs to the exit, his 23-year-old friend offered to go with them and according to police it was then the employee turned and allegedly punched him to the jaw.
The victim suffered a split jawbone and needed to have a titanium plate inserted into his face.
The employee has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and was bailed to appear in the Rockingham Magistrate's Court today.
A police spokesman said the investigation was continuing and the charge could be upgraded after a medical report was done.
