More driving on drugs than alcohol
The New South Wales Government says a roadside drug trial targeting truck drivers and nightclub patrons has found an alarming level of illegal drug use by drivers.
Police Minister David Campbell says the first four months of the trial show three times more people are driving under the influence of illegal drugs than alcohol.
But Mr Campbell says drink driving still needs to be targeted.
"I'm certainly concerned about the level of drink driving and I need to send the message that people should not drink and drive," he said.
"Equally they should not take illicit drugs full stop, and certainly they should not take illicit drugs and drive." Source: abc.net.au
